Possum Trot Orienteering Club of Kansas City invites you to the Indian Cave 3-hour Score O and 10-hour Rogaine. In both events you try to find as many controls as possible within the time limit. Shortly before the start, participants are given a detailed topographic map showing the locations of control markers placed throughout the park; they may take any route to visit the controls. Point values are based upon distance from the start, elevation, and navigational difficulty. There is a large penalty if you are overtime.
Two Events (what and when):
- 3-hour Score O: Saturday, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
- 10-hour Rogaine: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where:
- Indian Cave State Park is on the west bank of the Missouri River, just south of Brownville and north of Falls City, Nebraska. It features the reconstructed mid-19th Century river settlement of St. Deroin and Indian Cave, created several thousand years ago by silt and fine-grained sand deposits in a Pennsylvania rock channel. It boasts ancient Indian petroglyphs. [Google map]
